Next Season 4Kids brings you the best season yet as it will return us to everyone's favorite period of TMNT the 1998- 1999 season of turtles, oh wait there was no 98- 99 season of the old show. *sarcasm*

So there you have it TMNT fans, you better enjoy the show now while it's still around.

YOU SODDING BASTARDS! DAMN YOU ALL! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!
This is truly disappointing... :(
This 25th anniversary's going to be as exciting as a wet sparkler. I can ONLY hope that they're working on something and just aren't sharing it with us (or the informants) yet....

We will fight, brothers and sisters. RISE ABOVE!
Here's a time that I hope Mr. X is very wrong.
-->> ok, folks .. don't keep it in perspective at all.. let it ruin the rest of your year.
Ok.

Tokka, I don't think there is any good news to come from this.
I think TMNT dying for a second time is actually the end of the franchise. The comics barely sell. The toys are not selling. The TV series is canceled.
Where is the hope in this franchise at this point? Left overs on ebay? Sloppy seconds at flea markets?
-->> ..no, sir .. you don' understand ..
there's a fine line & plenty in between just between ' Skippiedy dooda ..uber super positive and DUMM dadda daa DUMM .. doom, gloom and negative.
.. there is a middle rode, i am trying my best to see thru' that, see both sides of the issue.
Sometimes it really is about riding out the storm.
NO REALLY .. I AM NOT FUCKING AROUND HERE !!
My biggest problem with all this negativity is that's starting to effect the health of some people i care allot about. I'm not ok with that.
Think, hope , anticipate what you will and what you want. I won't hold it against you.
Please don't hold this position against me.
K' .. and i don't want to be blunt, and i'm trying to avoid that.
The other week i was damm close to making the ultimate decision, ok .. really forced me into a position of trying to maintain ' THAT PERSPECTIVE ' ..
.. look thru' chaos and thru' the horizon in the fandom or within' real issues of you life as i say is not ever easy.
But ya know .. it prolly is possible.
And well if it wasn't .. then i would have been dead near the beginning of the month.
So .. -
.. where do you wanna be in your mind and in your heart ?!
.. >v<
People are allowed to have negative critique towards bad news though.
I for one refuse to put on a false face and pretend things are alright and deny the going is bad.
Either way, I hope this topic does'nt take a different direction about peoples critique rather than the subject itself which is about the toon ending. *hint*
This is a fine 25th Anniversary this is shaping to be...
With Transformers and Gi Joe also having quarter century birthdays you would expect Mirage/Playmates and all pulling out all the stops and seeing some healthy competition that only the fan would benefit from. Instead were having things taken away or given crap.
Ending the active toon now is not a good move. End of story.

-->> K' obviously you're still pretty much missing my point, KEN !!
I MEAN ' DUH '..
I for one refuse to put on a false face and pretend things are alright and deny the going is bad.
-->> ..ok fine , then if that's what i'm putting on is a false face then so bit it.
If that's your interpretation .. that's pretty sad, K.

-->> .. well it's pissing me off in the fact that some of my friends are really being effected by it hardcore. Whatever.

The beginning is the end is the beginning ..
.. i got shit to do .. and i'm gonna do this dance with you, K.
Your my friend .. and i'm notgonna turn this into a device that'll hurt that.
G'night.

In addition to what I was saying about the 25th Anniversaries - Look at Transformers right now: a flourishing mutli themed toyline (Animated, Classics, Commemorative, Movie, Crossovers, Alternators, Robot Heroes etc etc), a movie next year to coincide with its 25th birthday (the same with GI Joe) and a successful continuing TV series (All these things and more with even more on the way).
It makes me feel disappointed that the TMNT franchise doesn’t flex any of those muscles when it could, and with its own continuing cartoon series being cancelled it would seem the franchise has been stripped bare. I just hope the comics are not next for the chop.
I’m glad my life doesn’t revolve around TMNT ;).
I like the proposal of the one off movie/3 part toon thing, but when that’s done and dusted – What next?
In short - Now is not a good time to be taking things away.
-->> .. yeh
The economic collapse of the United States is there. People are losing jobs, houses, and so much more.
Do you think people are going to buy Turtles at this point? How does the reality of TMNT dying hurt health?
It doesn't. Life will go on. TMNT died once in the late 90's. Image, The Next Mutations, and the toy line all died around the same time.
The 2k3 had a good launch - a five year run. Pretty good considering they changed the franchise about four times during that run. They had the Tribunal run, the Fast Forward run, the Wowio run (which FAILED), and Back to the Sewers.
TMNT finally jumped the shark.
It happens.
Life happens.
My biggest problem with all this negativity is that's starting to effect the health of some people i care allot about. I'm not ok with that.
Life's tough, get a helmet.
I'm going to say this one time and one time only, please talk about this like civilized people.
I will not allow this to become about anything besides the topic at hand or related subject matter.
I will delete any comment that I feel does not stay on topic.
Am I making myself clear?
-->> Yes, Vaughn .. that's why i want him to email me if he wishes to discuss anything else.
Issues on past blogs do not need to arise .. and by having those that have issue with me contact me directly , if that will take those conversations to a different arena to keep it clean here.. then yes .. i ' HEAR ' you.
>c<
Oh dear, where're those fun things you planned posting? This sounds like a bad news tho, I can't really imagine they'd start doing TMNT in the future if they stop it now...
Oh well, life at best is bittersweet and all that...
Topsu, I've just finished a few and plan to post them soon. :)
scott- What was the failed Wowio series?
According to what I'm hearing.... this is the end of TMNT in general. Mirage is pulling the plug on the comic, and is behind the ending of the cartoon and the toyline. Who I heard it from is a fairly reliable source. So take it for what you will.
Vaughn, I was trying to be civil. If I had known or seen TOkka's request to email him, I would have taken it there.
However, I think my points are still valid. The TMNT franchise is about to become rather stale in 2009.
A two year gap for the TMNT comic book with only one issue that was made that poorly tied up loose ends is not going to help the franchise. These 'Tales of the TMNT' issues are cute single shot stories that could do a wonder to explain the two year gap of story lines like what is going on with the Michaelangelo bizarre love triangle.
I feel that TMNT is no longer taking on the angles and approaches to keep the franchise fresh. I would love to know where the comic book is going. I would love for the TV series to finally pick a gimmick and stay with it. Tribunals, the future, the internet, and everything else it has done was interesting but pulling the plug when there is still some juice is a poor decision.
I hope this blog is read by those who have hands on the TMNT action and that they can decide to do something better than pull the plug while the life support hasn't even had a chance to kick in.
Only four episodes of Back to the Sewers have been aired. Deciding to make TMNT into a TERMINATED MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is a poor choice; but with the economy as is, I understand.
People are buying the basics - food and gas. Spending $8 on a repackaged and repaint TMNT movie figure that claims to be new for BttS is not an option for most.
Which is why Playmates has dropped the ball.
The toyline (or the lack there of!) is not making the toon into a profitable or enticing market. There has been very little TMNT items out lately - even with Back to School and Halloween coming out, there hasn't been anything like TMNT lunch bags, folders, etc.
The push behind TMNT is not there.
What would I do if I could do anything? I would have Playmates start up the toy line again and recreate the classic characters that our friends love - Mondo Gecko, Ray Fillet, Bebop, Rocksteady, etc with the 2k3 style theme sculpts. I would also have them come with a randomly inserted 2k3-run episode on DVD or see if there was a way to have video game demos put on from the Konami or Ubisoft games. Maybe even a clip from the Imagi movie. Hell, the original movies. Or a CD with some of the original comic books on it. And I would do take offs of the very first couple series packaging from the old line.
Possibly a Build a Figure Krang.
That would get some collectors/kids interested.
Also, with the time window from Fast Forward that has been used for BttS, I would try to have Donatello utilize it and end up meeting characters like the Neutrinos.
What needs to be done is a valiant effort to save the run; especially if the 25th anniversary is coming out while the franchise is about to pull the plug on a majority of the promotion.
Vaughn, where would you go with this?
Anonymous - Which comic? There are two remember. I work on the comics and have been told nothing of the sort. In fact, just at the end last week I was talking to Gary Richardson about the promotional initiatives being employed to throw the comics back out in front of the broader comic community in a big way, and I had a story approved about mid last week for 2010, and I know a couple of artists are being sized up for stories then too. Peter said he was going to conclude his Vol.4 story in roughly six issues. Roughly. And that could push on well into 2010 depending on how Peter and Jim decide to schedule it. I love how everyone seems to have reliable sources, but all I see are the same general statements that are being bandied about everywhere else.
Are any other sources reporting this?
I never said I had sources... Just hunches.
And as for TMNT Volume IV having an ending in six issues? I feel like that it is missing closure even with that. And that bothers me.
It's not a definite figure, and the Volume IV page counts vary as well. Just wait and see what happens. If it bothers you when it's over, complain then. Complaining now doesn't do anything, especially when nobody but Peter and Jim know what's going on in the next few issues anyway.
-->> ..o' and , Scott..
..seeing eye to eye or not .. i don't want to be anyone's enemy.
Whether they like or disaoprove of what i say.
For example me n' Rose don't always agree ..but she's one my best allies and friends.
Overall i'm more worried about her and my friends who are taking this all to heart.
I told her, " TURTLES BE DAMNED " if she were to get sick or something cuz of all this.
Same goes for anyone.. there's no point taking this stuff to that extreme, physically , mentally, or wanting to cause other people physical harm.
That's not what this is about.
There are good points being brought up on all sides ( even trying to see some of yours , Scott ) ..
comin' as a person who doesn't get along with himself very much .. i have to take a grain of salt with everything i do.
Might help within' the current climate for all of us to do that.
Least i hope.
>v<
It's ok, Tokka...
I am just trying to stay on topic here.
Tristan - Why do you assume that you are the only person who could have (or be) a reliable source?
I don't, but if there was a name attached to that post I wouldn't have been so dubious of it.
Come on, Tristan. You're smart enough to know why no one can do that.
I meant to the poster themselves, not the source.
-->> .. ooo .. my achin' beak .. ~~ ** >v<
How many BttS episodes-seasons will be aired?
I'm pretty sure this is the only one Nacho.
Vaughn Michael said "I'm pretty sure this is the only one Nacho"
Oh, no!!!
